About the Role: As a CBRE Senior Data Center Day Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance, complex corrective repairs, and technical troubleshooting within a large Data Center operation. You will act as a senior technical resource, supporting the safe and reliable operation of critical infrastructure systems while mentoring technicians and coordinating operational activities across the site. Where appointed, you will serve as the site's Authorising Technician (HVAP), ensuring high-voltage operations are completed safely and in accordance with approved procedures. What You'll Do: Maintain an up-to-date log of completed and outstanding work through the site maintenance management system.
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire/life safety, and monitoring systems.
  • Track and complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities and provide equipment condition assessments.
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point for operational issues, maintenance activities, and critical incidents.
  • Support and coordinate Shift Technicians during daily operations and maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to support technician development and operational consistency.
  • Act as the site Authorising Technician (HVAP) where appointed, including reviewing and authorizing switching activities, isolations, and permits.
  • Ensure all contractors and site personnel comply with company, client, safety, and security requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with contractors, vendors, and operational teams.
  • Respond to emergency situations, equipment failures, and customer concerns.
  • Log, investigate, and report all out-of-line situations and incident events.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, management, contractors, and site teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance programs, operational procedures, and equipment reliability.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues. What You'll Need:
  • Technical apprenticeship, trade qualification, military technical training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically 5+ years of experience in Data Center, critical facilities, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of critical infrastructure systems including electrical distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC, BMS, EPMS, and fire/life safety systems.
  • HVAP (High Voltage Authorised Person) certification preferred or ability to achieve authorization.
  • Strong understanding of Permit-to-Work, Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), switching procedures, and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to technicians.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems using sound judgment and technical expertise.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
