Do you enjoy exploring new flavors, techniques, and presentations? We are looking for a creative and experienced pastry chef who is passionate about creating high-quality unique pastry and bakery products.
Step into a role that redefines excellence at the Sheraton Stockholm Hotel, a hallmark of hospitality since 1971 in the heart of Sweden's bustling capital. Aligned with our innovative owners Archer Hotel Management and Marriott International, we merge rich cultural history with modern luxury and a deep dedication to sustainability.
We have currently just finished a full renovation of the property with the intention of re-position the hotel in line with its iconic history among the luxury hotels in the city.
Over the past 9 months we have opened 463 newly renovated rooms, a large meeting room floor with 12 different meeting spaces, a high-end wellness club and 3 different unique food & beverage outlets. The american brasserie Mr. Bronck, the 70's disco inspired cocktail bar Sally's and the performance focused Juice Bar Juicy Jane's.
The right candidate is someone who is an experienced pastry chef and loves all things dessert. You are an unpretentious team player who has a passion for exceeding guest's expectations and creating memorable experiences through food.
This role will lead the planning, preparation, and execution of the pastry and bakery operations of the hotel which supplies our various outlets (restaurant, bars, breakfast, banqueting) in connection with our head chefs.
Key Responsibilities:
● Lead our pastry/bakery operation and oversee the production of high-quality desserts and pastries in line with our concepts.
● To change menus seasonally and support the development of our concepts according to the business needs.
● To help calculate the cost and price menus accordingly.
● Take an innovative approach in the development of new recipes while maintaining consistency in quality and presentation.
● To develop a strategy plan for the minimization of food wastage in your area of the kitchen.
● To oversee the daily ordering of the necessary pastry food products.
● To perform inventory duties for bakery related products on a monthly basis.
● To overview the HACCP control of our operation in your section ensuring we are adhering to the set regulations.
● Act on pastry related guest requests and problems in a manner that follows the hotels vision and policies
Background and personal characteristics:
You are a creative team player highly experienced in menu development who thrives in a high-pace kitchen operation making exceptionally high quality food.
In addition,
● Experience as a Pastry Chef, with at least 3-5 years within a high-quality kitchen operation in hotels or restaurants.
● Culinary degree or formal pastry chef training is required.
● Strong knowledge of classical and modern pastry techniques, baking methods, and presentation.
● Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
● Passion for creating innovative and visually appealing desserts.
● Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
● Understanding of inventory management and cost control.
● Creative personality who enjoys developing concepts and thinking outside the box.
● Experienced in developing high quality menus.
● Ambitious and interested in working in a high-pace environment with great standards.
● Good sense of service and a genuine desire to exceed guests' and employees' expectations.
● High professional ethics.
● Able to fluently communicate verbally in English. Fluency in Swedish is a plus.
