The opportunity

Join the Global Hardware Development (R&D) team at Hitachi Energy and take a leading role in hardware development for Bay Level solutions.

In this role, you will work close to both technology and execution, contributing to the development, integration, and industrialization of electronic hardware products used in critical energy infrastructure.

You will operate at the intersection of system engineering and product development, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers throughout the full product lifecycle – from concept and requirements definition to production release and lifecycle maintenance. The role offers the opportunity to work in an international, agile environment where quality, safety, and reliable delivery are key success factors.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Lead and contribute to hardware development and technology projects, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, cost, quality, and technical performance.
  • Plan, track, and report project progress; proactively identify, document, and mitigate technical and organizational risks.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers and operations to support industrialization and introduction of products into production.
  • Maintain accurate and structured documentation for specifications, system changes, and integration activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement of development processes to improve speed, quality, and cost effectiveness.

Your background

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of technical project management and experience in hardware development.
  • Strong understanding of electronics, system integration, and industrial product development.
  • Experience from industrial and/or energy domains, preferably within power, automation, or control systems.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions and organizations; strong stakeholder and supplier management skills.
  • Comfortable working in agile development environments with multiple parallel priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a proactive and structured working approach.
  • Fluency in English is required; Swedish is an advantage.
