Senior CFD Engineer – Aerodynamics (Automotive)
Role Overview
Join the Aerodynamics team within the Energy Efficiency function, responsible for shaping the aerodynamic performance of future vehicle programs. You will lead CFD simulations and support wind tunnel testing to optimize vehicle efficiency, stability, and overall performance across the development lifecycle—from concept to validation.
This role involves close collaboration with product design, vehicle engineering, and external partners to deliver high-quality aerodynamic solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CFD simulations and modeling for vehicle aerodynamics (external flow, cooling, soiling, etc.)
- Plan, support, and analyze wind tunnel testing activities
- Conduct detailed analysis and generate engineering recommendations & reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, simulation, testing) to optimize vehicle performance
- Support concept development through final validation, ensuring target fulfillment
- Present findings and represent Aerodynamics in technical forums and stakeholder discussions
- Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, methods, and ways of working within the team
Required Qualifications
- M.Sc. (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Aerospace, or relevant Engineering discipline
- Strong fundamentals in Fluid Dynamics / Aerodynamics
- Hands-on experience in CFD tools (e.g., STAR-CCM+)
- Experience in CAD & geometry preparation (e.g., CATIA, ANSA)
- Proven ability to perform simulation analysis and interpretation
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in English (written & spoken)
Preferred / Meritorious
- Experience in automotive aerodynamics and testing
- Exposure to wind tunnel testing environments
- Driving license
- Experience working in EV or energy efficiency domains
